My new promo video for charity book. Group Lotus suspend 3 Managers.

Whilst waiting for things to come together on the Motorsport University project, I have made a short video.

This morning (Friday 29 June 2012) I see that Group Lotus have suspended 3 more Senior Managers from Group Lotus.

The suspended managers are believed to be part of the legal, human resources and finance teams at the Hethel-based car maker.

The decision is thought to have been made by DRB Hicom’s board in Malaysia and not by the firm’s new chief operating officer Aslam Farikullah, who took over the day to day running of the company following the departure of Mr Bahar.

It seems Lotus is in the eye of a storm. Sad to say, nothing new there!

DRB-Hicom assemble cars for several OEM's. Here is a picture I copied from Paul Tan. Here you can see the Hicom MD (middle) Dato Kamil at the release of an Audi model in KL Malaysia.

Alex works for Caterham as a talent spotter/trainer. He also works for ESPN as an F1 pundit and still drives competitively. I attended 2009 ASLI Automotive conference with him. He is a big personality in Malaysia. I have never been photographed so much in life!
I used to have a commendation from Alex supporting my MUM project on my webpage. He asked me to remove it. Obviously, a misunderstanding.

DRB-Hicom MD meets Vince cable in Group Lotus HQ

I see that DRB-Hicom have met with Vince Cable.

Business secretary Vince Cable yesterday discussed the future of Norfolk car maker Lotus in a face-to-face meeting with the boss of new owner DRB-Hicom stating the government stood ready to “reactivate” a £10m pledge to support the firm’s development plans.
Hicom’s group managing director Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khamil Bin Jamil flew into the UK for the talks which were organised in the past week and come days after the Malaysian owners, who bought parent company Proton in January, insisted they would seek a “win-win” solution for the company’s 1,200 staff and the wider community when deciding the future of the car maker.

  I hope that Vince and Dato' Jamil talked about my Motorsport University proposal. I am of the belief they both are aware of it.

I have written to DRB-Hicom, presented at the Asian Strategic Leadership Institute, and have been interviewed by Bernama. Plus I have been in contact with UKti and people with Proton and Lotus.

I hope both of these leaders discussed the proposal. If they like it, then others will follow.
